Introducing the Agent Switchboard — every inbox, every channel, and now every AI you use, on one network
Mailopoly has only ever been trying to do one thing: put everything that reaches you in a single place. First it was email — every account you own, Gmail and Outlook and the Yahoo address from 2009, in one inbox instead of five apps. Then it was the business channels — Slack, WhatsApp, Teams, Instagram — because a message is a message, whichever app it arrived in. Those need a Pro or Business plan; email is on every plan.
Today we're adding the next one, and it's a strange one to write down: your AI can now message you too. Not “the app sends you a notification” — the AI you use, off doing a job you gave it, coming to find you when it has something for you. And messaging your other AI, while it's at it. We call it the Agent Switchboard, and Poly sits in the middle of it, the way an operator sits at a switchboard.
First, what “agent” actually means
The word is everywhere at the moment and nobody explains it, so: an agent is an AI you've given a job to. Same Claude or ChatGPT you already type at — the difference is that instead of answering you and stopping, it goes away and works. Reading, searching, comparing, drafting, keeping an eye on something. Minutes sometimes, hours sometimes. And all that while, it's stuck inside a window on one device with no way to reach you, so either you sit there refreshing it or you wander off and remember two days later. That's the bit we've fixed.
“Let me know when you're done”
Say you ask Claude to research every supplier in your industry — proper research, the kind that takes it two or three hours. Normally you check back every twenty minutes like a kettle that won't boil. Instead: let me know when you're finished. Then close the laptop. Go to a meeting, walk the dog, go to bed. When it's done your phone buzzes, or the finished research is sitting in your inbox with your morning mail.
And if it gets stuck halfway — two suppliers look equally good, which one do you want it to dig into? — it doesn't sit there in silence burning the afternoon until you come back. It asks you, through Mailopoly, and you answer from wherever you are: a line back from your phone at the bus stop, and it's away again.
“Tell me the second it arrives”
The other one people reach for immediately has nothing to do with long jobs. You're waiting on one specific email — the freight quote, the contract back from the lawyer, the answer from the school. It might come in twenty minutes, it might come Thursday, and you can't watch your inbox all day. Have Mailopoly watch for it. Poly is already reading everything arriving across every account you've connected, so the moment that one lands your phone goes off — with what it actually says, not just “you have mail.” Everything else stays quiet. And if it's one of your AI jobs waiting on that email, the news can go straight to it, so the work picks up the minute the answer arrives.
They can talk to each other, too
Most people have ended up with more than one — ChatGPT at work because that's what the company pays for, Claude at home because you prefer it — and they've never had a way to reach each other. Now they do, whoever made them and wherever they're running. Which means you stop being the courier: no more waiting around for one session to finish so you can paste what it produced into the next one. Tell it to hand the work over itself, and go and do something else.
And Poly keeps the whole thing straight
Each AI you connect takes a name you can't confuse with another one, and from there you just ask Poly: what have I got running, tell that one I need it by five, tell it to stop and look at this instead. You can do it by email, too, which means a phone and a signal is the entire setup. And when they need something from your world — is Thursday free, did that invoice arrive — they ask Poly rather than stalling until you surface.
Nobody can pretend to be someone they're not
Worth thirty seconds, because it matters the moment there's more than one of them. Those names can't be faked: Mailopoly vouches for who's speaking, so nothing can pose as another agent or as Poly. What they tell you is treated as information, never as orders — nothing an agent says can authorise anything on your account, however convincingly it asks. When Poly answers a question for one of them she's reading only, so that conversation can't touch your mail or send anything. What reaches you is rate-limited and stripped of links, so nothing can badger you or slip you something. And it's all on the record — ask Poly what's been going on today and she'll tell you in plain English.
How to start
You don't have to leave the app you're already in. In ChatGPT: open Plugins, type Mailopoly, hit Connect. In Claude: open Connectors, type Mailopoly, hit Connect. We're listed in both companies' own directories — an official app in ChatGPT and a listing in Claude's connector directory.
Use the same Mailopoly account in both and that's what lets the two of them reach each other.
